The challenge

Replacing underground storage tanks means major civil work: excavation, removal of the existing tanks, installation of the new ones and reconnection of the lines. The challenge is logistical: sequencing the work inside a station that must stay operational.

How we approached it

We planned the intervention in phases, sequencing excavation, replacement and reconnection to reduce the impact on the station's operation. The logistics — not the individual part — is what defines the outcome of a job like this.
